| Only
an hour from London is one of the best kept secrets in kitesurfing.
The Isle of Thanet has beaches that face all directions
and can be used at most states of the tide. For you this
means learning in the best possible conditions with clean
winds and sandy beaches. Whilst learning to kitesurf is
simple, trying to learn in the wrong conditions can make
the sport very frustrating. To enable you to get up and
riding as quickly as possible we use the best beach on any
given day, by checking the latest forecasts and the live
weather reports. This helps our students get up on a board
quicker and with a lot less hassle. Here are just a few
of our favourite spots
Minnis
Bay
Situated near Birchington Minnis Bay enjoys Blue Flag status
and has a few miles of golden sand at low tide. Best suited
to winds from the West, North West, North and North East,
Minnis is one of our favourite spots.
Pegwell
Bay
Just south of Ramsgate Pegwell Bay is a popular spot with
tourists and kitesurfers alike. At low tide it’s a
fair old stroll to the waters edge but with literally miles
of sand between you and anything solid its one of the safest
beaches around and works well in South West, South and South
Easterly winds.
Ramsgate
Sands
Golden sands and fish and chips galore! Ramsgate is a great
beach to use in an Easterly wind and has plenty to do after
the wind dies off with bars lining the seafront.
Where
to Stay
All the beaches are within half an hour of each other and
the Isle of Thanet has plenty of accommodation options in
its towns of Birchington, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate.
